Electronic Files are preferred and may be submitted on disk or by e-mail. Major file formats are generally supported in both PC and MacIntosh versions. Please check with publisher if there is any question concerning software. Camera-ready advertisement constitutes negatives or a one-piece velox. Laser copies are not acceptable as camera-ready; ads created using desktop publishing must be output using high-resolution equipment. Negatives should be right reading, emulsion-side-down. All four-color material must be accompanied by a Cromalin, Matchprint or progressive proofs. Film should be one piece for each color with register marks to the edges of each piece for each color. Halftone screens or any full color used in negatives must be 150-line. Under most circumstances, color advertisements specifying a PMS color will be converted by the printer to a process color equivalent. However, if a process color equivalent cannot be achieved (i.e. metallic colors), PMS color will be used but demand positioning will not be available.
Production work will be billed as "special" charges, $25 minimum. Any camera work involved – photographs, logos/line insertions, background tints, etc. – will be billed in addition to the $25 minimum. Publisher will accept requests to make changes in advertising but is not responsible for errors in revisions to ads or copy. If advertiser wants proof, materials are due five weeks prior to the publication date; if they are not received by that date, proofs will not be provided. Negatives and artwork are destroyed after two years.
