Claims

LRA/SIF claims are managed in-house by our industry-specific claims professionals. This ensures more expertise and control of industry-related injuries as well as quicker identification of potential fraudulent claims. Our Claims Department consists of a highly trained professional staff of experienced supervisors and adjusters. The LRA/SIF only offers workers' compensation insurance, therefore our claims specialists are not distracted by other lines of insurance. Our staff applies common sense approaches to paying claims, rather than simply churning out checks to injured employees.

Claims Reporting (877) 257-2743

The LRA/SIF Claims Management operation is a "full service" claims adjusting and management operation dedicated to members of the LRA/SIF.

This includes telephonic claims reporting, claims investigation, adjustment and settlement where applicable. Legal representation is provided and legal assignments are outsourced to selected legal firms throughout Louisiana.

In addition to legal representation, we also utlize the services of:

  • Nurse case managers
  • Vocational rehabilitation consultants
  • Investigative agencies
  • Medical costs
  • Claim indexing
  • Medical bill re-pricing
The LRA/SIF Claims Management facility employs a full-time registered nurse in the role of Director of Utilization Management. This individual provides telephonic case management, medical procedures and precerts as well as acts as a liaison between the claims operation and selected vendors, providing field case management and vocational rehabilitation. Additionally, the Director of Utilization Management serves as a professional resource tool for the adjusters in the office.

Unlike most third party administrators, the LRA/SIF Claims Management operation specifically caters to our members and provides them with the necessary guidance and education to promptly and efficiently manage their claims.
